“Sun is shining, weather is sweet”
Am going through a bit of a seventies revival at the moment. Marley is a big part of it. But so surprisingly is Bowie, Stevens, the Gees and early Elton.
There is something hopeful about seventies music that I’m not getting from the decade just begun. Even the more morose has a kernel of hope.
It must have been being part of the largest voting crop. They knew they had nothing in their way to stop their ideas from dictating the countries pathways.
The other thing I like are the lyrics. There is real poetry in their songs. You can feel the syllabic rhythms, the prose and meaning. There is a story being told.
I’m finding it a real pick-me-up at the moment. As Bob would say ..
“To the rescue, here I am”
