Autumnal

It blew in
an expected rush of gold
From silence
to leaves the trees
could not hold

From sunny
lazy summer day
To breezy trees
a cold chill
the warm away

The fall
of life from high

Kicking leaves
Crushing
those that die

But let’s not fool
this is not life dying
but reborn
in season

The start of trying

As summer retreats
As sun starts shorter paths

visits ice, snow
winters bleak but welcome parts

Too short shrift then
glorious cold

I await  summers arrival
warmth again will blow
